Workshop Local Shit Plaster - Heesch, NL

In collaboration with architect Lydia Fraaie and Nadja van Hemmen-van Driel we organized the first Local Shit Workshop on July 12th, 2025 in Heesch, NL. Next to a theorectical lecture about biomimicry, we learned about the origins, political context and the physical properties of cow manure plaster in first half the workshop. In the second half, the participants learned how to remove silt from local sand, test the quality of clay soil and prepare the right mixture. After making different samples, we began the renovation of the Stropaviljoen, build by Lydia’s architecture students.
